Etsy Shop: Mary Gamelin Creations

One of my goals of the The D in Decor blog is to bring my readers the best in Detroit-based design and showcase the many talented artists and crafters that Detroit and Michigan at large has to offer. One of the hippest homes to designers on the web is Etsy, my favorite place to buy indie goods. So what better way to showcase local talent, then with this new feature that I’m calling “Etsy Shop Spotlight”. I hope you like and remember buying local helps support our artists and our community….

Etsy Shop: Mary Gamelin Creations

Creator: Mary Gamelin

Location: Michigan

Member Since: October 9, 2007

Specialty: Luxurious pillows with rich textiles and vintage fabrics

Style: “I love to design all different textures and patterns together, and have many ideas in the works.”

In her words: “I absolutly LOVE……. fabrics! I could spend all day just shopping fabric stores (if time allotted!). My favorite fabrics are heavy duty upholstery fabrics, rich luscious velvets, chenille’s, durably stadium cloth, and warm wool felts.

I think Mary’s usage of textiles is amazing. I love the quality of her designs, which could easily fit in a high priced upscale specialty shop but she’s offering them at wonderfully affordable prices. My favorite is the Cream Ribbon pillow for $25.00. I’m excited to add Mary’s shop to my Etsy faves list and hope to snag a pillow, once I make my final decision on a sofa for my living room makeover. Go Mary!
